purusa completed an honours music degree majoring in composition study with peter sculthorpe, and has focussed on electro-acoustic composition embracing both mainstream western chamber and orchestral concert music, and various electronic permutations of related material ... which also tends to have a focus on his role as composer rather than an involvement as sitar performer (except for the ongoing daostreams series)

conceptually this compositional area also includes an ongoing approach in which pieces are generally never conceived of as 'finished', rather they are always be subject to revision/development over time ... this is analogous to his approach to performance as an improviser within fluid structures as embodied by indian art music and western improvised traditions such as jazz

hence all relevant scores remain self-published, so as to allow this process of ongoing revision/development to freely occur without the logistical restriction of fixed commercially published versions

further, all of the pieces listed below may exist in both electronic and acoustic versions, their musical material being variously organised according to the realisation medium used
