purusa has pursued ongoing study and practice of visual art, focussing on a fusion of western art styles and chinese brush painting techniques, using the same collage/open-form approach which is the basis of his music composition

visual mixed media elements include the use of english/sanskrit text / chinese calligraphy/brush painting / music notation / symbolic imagery / colouristic abstraction as an extension of sonic and visual timbre/tonality / and collage ... he has studied traditional chinese brush painting with sydney master maurice lin, in tandem with western art study, including a doctorate in creative arts, and has exhibited at various private and public exhibitions, as well as interfacing painting and computer manipulation of imagery to create both art pieces and original cd artwork

the artwork resulting from these various techniques/processes cover a range of formats, some also integrated with cd recordings of original music :

'single cd' : individual laminated cd covers featuring original artwork

'art/cd' : individual horizontal mixed media panels (approx 54cm/24cm) able to be variously arranged/combined for exhibition, and also each functioning as cd sleeves

'art/score' : horizontal printed a3 sheets combining music score/graphics/artwork, for both music performance and able to be variously arranged/combined for exhibition

'a2/a1' : larger individual mixed media panels, able to be variously arranged/combined for exhibition
